henna results (18mths SL-ed)

texture shot

Here are the results of henna-ing my sls. You can see it's a deep coffee colour, blends in the greys - with a reddish tinge. To be honest the greys are still there, only not so noticeable. The colour will improve with further henna application. Also I've been locked for 18 mths so these photos give an idea of how my hair is doing. This is a result of a 'braid-out'. I don't do much styling, but braid-outs are my fav style cos it's so easy.

Check out the freezee texture. My locs appear very frizzy indeed, and the majority of loc ends are still open. Frizz comes with the territory.(I don't mind cos it makes my hair look fuller). This will gradually change as each loc becomes more condensed and tight. I daresay the henna has given me MORE frizz.

Ofo not bad at all. You can actually see the browness of the hair. As for the grey thing... well after several applications you will tackle them....though the ones at the front are so subborn. And unless you want to go without ever washing your face, then we just got to deal with the grey. All my baby hairs have slowly returned and am not about to kill them off again with chemicals so this is the thought that runs through my head each time i see the grey two days after colouring.

I also have a brown 'Grey stick' I purchased from Sally's in your neck of the woods. A few strokes over the grey, and am good to go!

Thanks ladies. Yeah, it's kinda reddish in the sun. Most of my greys are back peeking out, but they're a bit like highlights. Nubian I have one of those sticks, but I never remember to use it lol.

oooh thank you soo much for this post, I'm itching to color my hair and have looked into henna mixed with indigo, I just wasn't sure how it would work with locs. I love your color, very rich!

Laloced, this henna is from lush and it mixes red henna with indigo. I quote what it says here:

"Caca Brun is made with black and red hennas plus ground coffee for a deep brown shade.. Clove bud oil adds to its spicy scent and we use powdered nettle and seaweed for extra shine and softness. Caca Brun gives your hair a magnificent shine.
