4 YEARS on Lockdown!

Can you see some teeny tiny bling in my locs?
I must have combined about 40 locs.

4 years and it feels like I've had these locs forever. Are they still sisterlocks? What d'you reckon? I think I broke every'rule', used what tools I like, products I like, combined locs ,ignoring partings, experimented with extensions on a couple etc. I just had to do what works for me.

Your locs are gorgeous! I never understood the anal obsession some sisters have with the parts and the grid that has to look perfect at all times. My hair is thick and dense and I DIY too, so needless to say that my grid is a distant memory, I've combined quite a few locs and I do with my hair as I see fit. It's my hair after all. Sisterlocks or not, your hair looks great!

Thank you Paula. Like you, I'm not that bothered as long as my locs are healthy.

this is comforting. My grid is not perfect either, and it doesn't bother me. I DIY so I have accepted I won't maintain perfect lines. Your hair looks gorgeous, absolutely stunning, I love the thickness. I can't wait to be locked 4 years :-)

I dont understand the hype at all. It is almost cult-like in some circles. I love your locks and you are taking excellent care of them. I DIY my braidlocks and often get asked if they are SL's. I take it as a compliment and keep on doin' ME. Just like you, I spent years frustrated with, fighting with and hating my hair. The day I walked out in public with my baby braidlocks was FREEDOM!!!! Keep doing YOU girl we all LOVE it!

Thank you Ladies for your lovely comments. @Gerry, it makes me smile when someone describes my locs as thick bc I have battled thinning issues for so long. But there's no quitting in me, and God's faithful!
Woman inside,V,Nai...appreciate you all.

I think your hair looks awesome. I like to see ladies break the 'Sisterlocks Rules.' Who's to say how you do your hair? It looks good. That's all that matters!

Afrolady I love your blog mainly bc you have the braidlocks I admire and I very nearly went that route. Yes indeed it's about Freedom. That what truly matters.

LOL I love the fact that you ask "are they still sisterlocks" I second what everyone else says. Do what you want they still look good and healthy.
