Brushing sisterlocks

I brushed my sls the other day. I used a VERY soft brush. Actually I was focusing on my scalp and hairline, rather than my locs and I was very gentle. I decided to give my scalp a little stimulation. I massage sometimes too. I used to brush my braidlocks, and it was really good. I'm not saying you should brush your sls, I don't want anyone to damage their locs. I'm just sharing what I did with mine. I know a number of folks with traditional locs brush theirs, but does anyone with microlocs ever use a brush on their scalp, hairline or locs? If you do please share.

I was doing a google search on brushing Sisterlocks and your blog was the first listing to pop up. After viewing comments on traditional lockers brushing their locks I was curious to know if it would work for me as well....

I look forward to reading what others have to say.

I've discovered that other sls wearers brush theirs too. I thought I was the 1st one to try it. I think you have to be Xtra careful with sls. I would like to know how others who've brushed sls are doing...if they'd only blog about it. It's one of those 'no no' subject y'know - like sticking glue on your locs.

Yes, I sure do... I generally will brush my hairline for an updo if I have stray hairs around. If I have too many stray hairs around my hairline I'll retighten them into nearby locs.
On OTHER NO-NOs:
I have ALSO attempted to superglue my resistant to loc Sisterlocks. To my amazement, the glue washed out and my resistant loc STILL unraved. In the end, my unraved loc was split and retightened into other nearby locs.

Well, 3girlsmomma, since we're confessing, I'll admit to the superglue trick. I read it on someones blog and tried it on 2 resistant locs. They stayed put. The glue washed out but the locs are now intact. I got bold and put some on another loc- we'll see how that works.
So brushing is not so rare as I previously thought.

I brush about every 2 weeks with a not so hard and not so soft boar bristle brush. Since I suffer with lint, no matter how much I cover ,I chek my loks nitely and if I see lint building I use a tooth brush to get it out.

Toothbrush? Wow, I never thought of that.
